Some exciting news to share: I, along with my Culinary Illustrations, am the focus of an editorial piece in the December 2017 issue of Gourmet de Mexico magazine. The title translates to "From the Plate to the Brush." The article contains 4 of my illustrations along with my perspective on communicating visually to the current "foodie" culture. Of course the article is in Spanish, and results from an interview conducted in September of this year.
I am humbled and honored to announce that my piece "Good Morning Weekend" was accepted into American Illustration #34. The inclusion of my work here opened so many doors for me and led to the growth and success of my illustration career. The publication changed the name of the piece - not certain why, but they got my name right and that is more important! Here is a link to the online gallery: https://www.ai-ap.com/slideshow/AI/34/#96
Kroger, Inc. commissioned me to design a mural for one of their new "Marketplace" stores. I so enjoyed the challenge of designing an effective and aesthetic image for such an usual and large space (10' X 100') and using only 13 colors. From the article: "Festivities are to include the unveiling of a mural by artist and illustrator, Letha Carrico-Wood. The mural depicts the history of Rincon and Effingham County. It features numerous historical references, including the iconic Whitley House and county courthouse, as well as the winding waterways of the Lowcountry."
